Džervin, more than wine
The return of the Džervin winery from Knjaževac to the wine scene in 2017 took the local wine public somewhat by surprise. Not only are the litre wines of its basic range competitively priced against the region's biggest wineries – its bottled range is also at the top for value for money.
That was shown in practice at BeoWine 2018, where the revived winery, built on almost a century of tradition, won an award in precisely that category – and in several others, all documented by the many diplomas lining the wall just inside the cellar. Silver medals for the Schlossberg 2017 Merlot in Vienna (AWC 2019) and Sofia (BIWC) further fuelled hopes of returning the former winemaking glory to this beautiful part of Serbia.
